(Of David.) | Psalmus ipsi David. |
1 τοῦ Δαυιδ πρὸς σέ κύριε ἐκέκραξα ὁ θεός μου μὴ παρασιωπήσῃς ἀ{P'} ἐμοῦ μήποτε παρασιωπήσῃς ἀ{P'} ἐμοῦ καὶ ὁμοιωθήσομαι τοῖς καταβαίνουσιν εἰς λάκκον 2 εἰσάκουσον τῆς φωνῆς τῆς δεήσεώς μου ἐν τῷ δέεσθαί με πρὸς σέ ἐν τῷ με αἴρειν χεῖράς μου πρὸς ναὸν ἅγιόν σου 3 μὴ συνελκύσῃς μετὰ ἁμαρτωλῶν τὴν ψυχήν μου καὶ μετὰ ἐργαζομένων ἀδικίαν μὴ συναπολέσῃς με τῶν λαλούντων εἰρήνην μετὰ τῶν πλησίον αὐτῶν κακὰ δὲ ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις αὐτῶν 4 δὸς αὐτοῖς κατὰ τὰ ἔργα αὐτῶν καὶ κατὰ τὴν πονηρίαν τῶν ἐπιτηδευμάτων αὐτῶν κατὰ τὰ ἔργα τῶν χειρῶν αὐτῶν δὸς αὐτοῖς ἀπόδος τὸ ἀνταπόδομα αὐτῶν αὐτοῖς 5 ὅτι οὐ συνῆκαν εἰς τὰ ἔργα κυρίου καὶ εἰς τὰ ἔργα τῶν χειρῶν αὐτοῦ καθελεῖς αὐτοὺς καὶ οὐ μὴ οἰκοδομήσεις αὐτούς | 1 To thee, my Lord, my refuge, I cry aloud, do not leave my cry unanswered; listen to me, or I am no better than a dead man, sinking to the grave. 2 Listen Lord, to my plea as I call upon thee, as I raise my hands in prayer towards thy holy temple. 3 Do not summon me, with the wicked, before thy judgement-seat; with men who traffic in iniquity, men who talk of peace to their neighbours, while their hearts are full of malice. 4 For them, the reward of their own acts, their own evil ways; as they did, be it done to them, in their own coin repaid. 5 Of the Lord’s acts, the Lord’s ways, they took no heed; ruin be theirs, ruin irreparable. | 1 Ad te, Domine, clamabo; Deus meus, ne sileas a me: nequando taceas a me, et assimilabor descendentibus in lacum. 2 Exaudi, Domine, vocem deprecationis meæ dum oro ad te; dum extollo manus meas ad templum sanctum tuum. 3 Ne simul trahas me cum peccatoribus, et cum operantibus iniquitatem ne perdas me; qui loquuntur pacem cum proximo suo, mala autem in cordibus eorum. 4 Da illis secundum opera eorum, et secundum nequitiam adinventionum ipsorum. Secundum opera manuum eorum tribue illis; redde retributionem eorum ipsis. 5 Quoniam non intellexerunt opera Domini, et in opera manuum ejus destrues illos, et non ædificabis eos. |
6 εὐλογητὸς κύριος ὅτι εἰσήκουσεν τῆς φωνῆς τῆς δεήσεώς μου 7 κύριος βοηθός μου καὶ ὑπερασπιστής μου ἐ{P'} αὐτῷ ἤλπισεν ἡ καρδία μου καὶ ἐβοηθήθην καὶ ἀνέθαλεν ἡ σάρξ μου καὶ ἐκ θελήματός μου ἐξομολογήσομαι αὐτῷ 8 κύριος κραταίωμα τοῦ λαοῦ αὐτοῦ καὶ ὑπερασπιστὴς τῶν σωτηρίων τοῦ χριστοῦ αὐτοῦ ἐστιν 9 σῶσον τὸν λαόν σου καὶ εὐλόγησον τὴν κληρονομίαν σου καὶ ποίμανον αὐτοὺς καὶ ἔπαρον αὐτοὺς ἕως τοῦ αἰῶνος | 6 Blessed be the Lord’s name, my plea is heard; 7 the Lord is my strength and shield. Trusting in him, I found redress; there is triumph in my heart, on my lips the song of praise. 8 The Lord defends his own people, protects the king he has anointed. 9 Lord, save thy people, bless thy own chosen race; be their shepherd, evermore in thy arms upholding them. | 6 Benedictus Dominus, quoniam exaudivit vocem deprecationis meæ. |
